Reach instructor.
Teach free Reach sessions on how coverage works, finding low-cost care, reading a medical bill, health records and patient portals.
What you do
- Teach the Reach modules a host has chosen, prepared for the country you teach in
- Explain how coverage, referrals, bills and records requests work, in plain words
- Point people to community health centers, free clinics and payment help where they exist
- Tell the Moraph lead which questions came up, so the materials improve
What you need
- Work experience inside healthcare: for example nursing, patient navigation, medical billing, pharmacy or social work
- Comfort explaining things plainly to a room, or to a group online
- Willingness to keep to the materials and to say “I don’t know” when that is the answer
What you won’t do
- Give medical advice, or discuss anyone’s diagnosis or treatment
- Recommend, or enroll anyone in, a particular insurer or plan
- Collect anyone’s health information or contact details
- Where
- In person at the host’s venue, or online on an account the host or Moraph manages.
- Checks
- An identity check, references, and a background check where local law allows for roles with young people or adults at risk. Checks are finished before your first session.
- Training
- The short training on the rules every volunteer takes, then a walk-through of the modules you will teach with the Moraph lead for the series.
- Time
- You tell us what you can give. A series is planned in writing with the host, so you know the dates before you agree to it.
- Open to
- Moraph colleagues and vetted members of the public, 18 or over, in the ten countries where Moraph has an office.
